Colantuono’s Big Day Leads Stockade FC to Win on the Road

Kingston, NY — Stockade FC scores 5 on the road in Lowell, MA to beat Greater Lowell Rough Diamonds, 5-1.  Vinny Colantuono’s brace set the tone for a big offensive production. 

Vinny Colantuono scored his first goal 13 minutes into the match with a rocket from just outside the box. Hugo Guerra set it up with as Colantuono beat the keeper to the far post. 

In the 25th, Rough Diamonds would equalize as Sean Lanzillo found the final touch in the box.

Stockade FC would respond. Again, Colantuono would find space in the box as Sam LaTorre (Marist) sent him in on goal for a calm finish to push Stockade back into the lead, 2-1. 

After the half, Stockade FC came out as the aggressors and began to dictate the pace of the match. Colantuono would be involved again as his pass was taken down beautifully on the chest of Scott Zobre for a cracking left footed finish to make it 3-1.

Richard Morris off the bench would make an immediate impact just 4 minutes into his appearance. Colantuono would register his second assist of the match as his driven cross was slammed home by Morris at the back post. Morris’ goal marked his first for Stockade FC. 

Christian Geddes (Iona) would wrap up the day with his first Stockade FC goal as Petro Klishch (Elon), Sam LaTorre and Brandon Davenport (New Paltz) created space for Geddes to put the icing on the cake and celebrate with the amazing traveling Dutch Guard. 

The win secured 3 points for Stockade FC on the road and saw NPSL debuts David Penafiel, Petro Klishch, John Bernardi (Oneonta) and Luke Rossiter (Siena). 

Stockade FC improves to 3-0-2 (W-L-T) and travels to Hartford City FC next weekend, June 12 before returning home to Dietz Stadium on June 19 when Boston City heads to Kingston.

Colantuono’s 2 goals and 2 assists propelled Stockade FC to a big offensive day at Greater Lowell Rough Diamonds.  Colantuono would record a brace in the first half before setting up 2 in the second as Stockade FC upended Rough Diamonds, 5-1.
