Stockade Scraps Road Point in Syracuse

Manlius, NY — Daniel D’Ippolito scored his 8th goal in 4 matches of 2023 to claw a point on the road.

On a rain drenched mid-week night, Syracuse would open the scoring in the 32nd minute as Michael Lantry rose up for a header past Dylan McDermott.

The tide would significant change soon after as Matthew Stasyuck went in hard with a dangerous tackle on Joey Dolan and would be red carded in the 39th minute. Syracuse would play the remaining 50 minutes with 10-men.

After halftime, Stockade would dominate the ball and the majority of opportunities. Syracuse would bunker down and hold off the orange and black.

Finally, in the 87th minute, Stockade FC would find their breakthrough. Daniel D’Ippolito cut to his right and struck through traffic to beat the Syracuse keeper and level the score.

Stockade would continue to search for the winner as stoppage time approached. Syracuse would have one final breakout which saw Alberto Molina’s sliding challenged rules as an offense by the referee, showing him his second yellow card and reducing Stockade to 10-men as well.

The draw moves Stockade to 4-0-1 (W-L-D) and 13 points to remain atop the North Atlantic Conference standings before returning home to Tenney this Saturday, June 17th, as Valeo FC visits Poughkeepsie.
