Koziol, Zobre & Avila Chosen As 2021 Captains

KINGSTON, NY — Head Coach Jamal Lis-Simmons has named three captains who will lead Stockade FC onto the field for the 2021 NPSL season.

Matt Koziol (Poughkeepsie, NY) will begin his 2nd season as Stockade FC’s club captain. In 2019, Koziol succeeded Lis-Simmons as the 2nd captain in club history. Currently, Koziol leads all players in career minutes played with 4,133 minutes. Entering his 5th season, Koziol has scored 13 times and collected 9 assists.

Scott Zobre (Poughkeepsie, NY) has been a Stockade FC Swiss Army Knife. In his previous 4 seasons, Zobre has featured as a striker, winger and outside back. Known as a creator, the Binghamton alum has created 5 goals and 7 assists since his debut in 2016. His hard work and passion on the field is instrumental in the development of our culture.

Joao Avila (Goiàs, Brazil) begins his 2nd season with Stockade FC. An integral part of the back line, the Marist Red Fox immediately cemented his place as one of the first names on the team sheet. Avila’s hard work and determination on the field contributed to one of the greatest moments in Stockade FC’s history vs. Brooklyn Italians in 2019.
